GTF Single phase power controller up to 250A

The GTF series of microprocessor advanced solid state power unit controls, in compact and optimized solutions, offer various power outputs for use with different types of heating elements.

Current levels range from 25A to 250A, nominal voltage from 480Vac to 600Vac. The command input is configurable and accepts 0-10V, 0/4-20mA signals, potentiometers, logic signals, including with PWM modes for cost effective solutions.

The device can also be operated via Modbus RTU serial communication, with cascade chain connections facilitated by plug-in RJ10 (telephone) connectors, or with various types of Fieldbus (Optional).

The many trigger modes are software configurable and provide:

  • ZC: Zero Crossing constant cycle time (settable in range 1-200sec), for conventional loads
  • F: Burst-Firing, Zero crossing with optimized minimum cycle time, for systems with low thermal inertia, medium-wave IR lamps
  • HSC: Half Single Cycle Zero Crossing (corresponding to Burst Firing) that manages single semi-cycles of conduction or stop cycles, useful for short-wave IR lamps, reduces flickering and limits generation of EMC noise on the power line (applied only to single-phase load or 3-phase open delta 6 leads)
  • PA: Phase angle control, useful for short-wave IR lamps, transformer primaries. Completely eliminates flickering of load filaments.

Soft Start and soft stop ramp functions can be assigned to these controls with limitation of current peaks and/or maximum RMS current level.

Thanks to sophisticated Hardware and Software solutions, you can precisely control different types of loads.

Phase angle control matched with current limit and current, voltage, or load power feedback functions, can be used with “critical” applications such as (for example), special resistors such as special Super Kanthal™ heating elements, Silicon Carbide resistors, or transformer primaries.

GTF runs complete diagnostics of current, voltage, power, and temperature levels:

Current Diagnostics:

  • Total and partial load interrupt alarm
  • Self-learn function of alarm limit for interrupted load
  • Alarm for SCR in short circuit - Alarm for load in short circuit or overcurrent
  • Alarm for interrupted internal fuse Voltage Diagnostics:
  • Alarm for absence of phase

Temperature Diagnostics:

  • Alarm for over temperature of power module The power control with Soft start ramp limits load current peaks at power-on, ooptimizes the consumptions and increases the load operating duration.

A specific, linear Soft Start curve, designed to control gradually the current in the initial phase is available for IR lamps.

The internal resettable “electronic fuse” is an exclusive option: it lets you avoid extra-rapid fuses and greatly reduces machine downtimes and their cost.

Device parameters can be configured from PC, by means of a simple configuration SW which lets you save all parameters in a configuration file that is easy to manage and to copy to other devices.

Moreover, an RS485 serial connection of GTF is offered with Modbus RTU protocol to control currents, voltages, powers, load status, and device status from the supervisor terminal (HMI) or PLC.

GTT Single-phase solid state relay, up to 120A

The GTT family of solid-state relays has been designed with the aim of providing very accurate control of the load from an analogue input signal (0-10V or 0-20/4-20mA) or a potentiometer (from 1kOhm to 10kOhm ).

The electronic design ensures that the cycle time for proportioning the power is automatically optimized.

The number of cycles that the GTT supplies to the load (fast cycling) for a given input signal is calculated to be the minimum possible to maintain the necessary accuracy.

This guarantees a very fast and accurate control loop that enables the GTT, driven by a controller or a PLC with analogue output, to obtain very precise control.

The GTT can be uses in three phase systems, using master-slave control architecture in which the control signal drives only one GTT (master) and this unit supplies the synchronized signals to the other units (slaves).

Optional monitoring for an interrupted load can be provided (HB).

This accepts a 500mAac input from a current transformer.

The trip point is adjustable with trimpots and there is LED indication and a normally open voltage free relay contact output.

The GTT solid-state relay has a green LED to indicate the presence of the 24Vac power supply and a red LED to indicate the switching state as a function of the input signal.

This LED will be continuously off for zero power and fully on at maximum and will flash at all intermediate values.

The units offer optional accessoires for panel mounting, fuses and fuseholders, current transformer and voltage transformer

GTS Single-phase solid state relay, up to 120A

The insertion and disinsertion of an electrical load requires the use of a suitable switching device and protection that is safe and immune to interference.

Many industrial applications require the load to be activated with very short switching times in order to maintain accurate control.

The solution is to use solid-state relays. Gefran offers a range of solid state relay units, GTS, with current ratings between 10A and 120A and nominal voltages of 230Vac, 480Vac.

According to the type of load, there are Triac versions, and double SCR versions.

All models have been designed to guarantee continuous operation at the full current rating in an ambient temperature up to 40°C.

For less critical operations, it is possible to use the products at currents greater than their nominal rating (refer to the heat dissipation curves).

A range of accessories is available: fuses, fuse-holders and DIN rail connections.

Description:

Zero-voltage switching. Current range: 15 A to 120A

  • Input control from logic signal
  • Switching at voltage zero crossing

GT Single-phase solid state relay, up to 120A

The GT family of solid-state relays has been designed with the aim of providing very accurate control of the load thanks to an analog control input, in voltage at 0…5V; 0…10V or in current at 0…20/4…20mA or a potentiometer (from 1Kohm to 10 Kohm).

The electronic design ensures that the cycle time for proportioning the power is automatically optimized.

The number of cycles that the GT supplies to the load (wave trains) for a given input signal is calculated to be the minimum possible to maintain the necessary accuracy.

The GT can be used in three phase systems, using master-slave control architecture in which the control signal drives only one GT (master) and this unit supplies the synchronized signals to the other slaves.

Two GS modules can also be used as slaves (logic control). A load interrupt control option (HB) is available without having to use an external current transformer; alarm limit is settable with trimmer and yellow LED signal, with voltage-free contact, normally open.

The GT solid-state relay has a green LED to indicate the presence of the 24Vac power supply and a red LED to indicate the switching based on the analog control input signal.

The LED signal will be continuous (off at minimum, on at maximum) at the ends of the scale, pulsing for intermediate values.

The units offer optional accessoires for panel mounting, fuses and fuseholders, current transformer, isolation transformers.

Use the relè with an opportune heatsink (see section accessories).
